GOR Marathon 2020 for Fred Hollows
Over 25 million people are needlessly blind on this planet but a simple procedure costing as little as $25 in most developing countries can restore their sight and change their lives for ever!
I raise money for The Fred Hollows Foundation because they help train and empower local eye doctors, nurses and health workers and create a sustainable system of care in the communities that need our help the most.
Their work has a very clear purpose: to make sure everyone, whether they’re rich or poor, has access to high quality, affordable eye health as we enjoy right here in this country.
Thank you for your support
When approached by Mike Toner at the beginning of 2020 with the proposition of running a marathon for the Fred Hollows foundation, I decided that after two year post injury (anddddd refusing major surgery) it was time to prove the specialists wrong & put my knee to the ultimate test for a good cause! Fast forward to the end of 2020, and I could never have foreseen just what this run did for me mentally.
Having struggled with my mental health (alongside many other Aussie artists who’ve had their careers put on hold) throughout Covid, personally this run gave me a reason to push through and truly focus on my health, resulting in a better mind set, and a better end to the year because of it.
I want to take a minute to put it out there and say, I understand it’s a tough time for all. Financially, we’ve all faced hardship this year.
However I’m here to ask family, friends and anyone wanting to contribute to this wonderful cause to donate (even as little as $5!! - everything helps) towards the hard work Mike Toner, myself & the “Quick-As-Thieves” crew have put in to get ourselves fit & ready to run with marathon.
Below is the donation button if you decide to donate to my cause. NO donation is too small, every cent counts!!
